这个动画是用来模拟一种常见的迷幻视觉效应，也就是视觉变形喵。它准确地展示了一个物体在变成各种其他形态时那种平滑流畅的过渡感。
视觉变形的定义是一种感官体验，你会看到外部环境中特定的部分发生了视觉上的蜕变，变身成了其他物体哦。比如说，经历这种效应的人经常会报告说，看到环境的一部分变成了完全不同的东西。这些变形在艺术风格、细节程度、真实感和动画效果上都有着巨大的差异呢。
这些幻觉本质上是渐进式的，也就是说，它们是从图案或物体中产生，然后在几秒钟内，这个物体会以一种类似液体的流动方式平滑地漂移成一种全新的形态。这种现象会被另一种叫做模式识别增强的视觉效应显著增强和助推。它会导致模糊的刺激和物体变成之前感知到的事物的极其精细的版本。
在程度较轻的时候，变形过程可能需要一点点专注和集中注意力才能维持，而且更多出现在周边视野里。只要稍微走神一下，图像可能就会消失或者变成另一个图像。保持眼球静止不动通常会增加这种渐进变形的强度。不过嘛，在程度较高的时候，就完全不需要这么费力啦，它自己就会变来变去的。
值得一提的是，变形的内容、风格和一般行为往往很大程度上取决于体验者的情绪状态呢。举个例子，如果一个人情绪稳定而且挺开心的，通常就更容易看到中性的、有趣的变形。相反，如果一个人情绪不稳定又不开心，就更容易遭遇那种邪恶的、让人害怕的变形，这可能会让负面情绪变得更糟糕哦。
变形通常会伴随着其他效应一起出现，比如漂移、模式识别增强和外部幻觉。它们最常在使用了中等剂量的迷幻化合物后被诱发，比如LSD、赛洛西宾和麦斯卡林。不过呢，在使用谵妄剂如苯海拉明、曼陀罗和苯扎明时也可能出现这种现象哦。
